Kim Campbell

Drums & Vocals

Kim has been behind the drums for over 30 years, playing many styles of music with various bands in the Cleveland area. She started at an early age playing clarinet, saxophone and had a passion for the drums. Kim went on to get a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from Wittenberg University.

Bob McKee, drummer for the "Mike Douglas Show" and an accomplished jazz musician in Cleveland, inspired her to "Keep it up... it's rough out there for a woman" he would say earnestly. She has been at it ever since and wonders how she puts up with late nights, and lugging Drums all over town.

Kim’s mother, sister, friends and an eclectic array of awesome Bandmates keep her on track. She drives a school bus by day and moonlights on the weekends with a couple of bands including the The North Coast Goats!  Music is her medicine of choice!

Anne West

Bass & Vocals

Anne began singing in school and church choirs in the 3rd grade. She started playing guitar at age 12, and studied classical guitar in college.

She first took up bass after joining a lounge band by the name of Flyght.

After the lounge circuit, Anne was a member of an all-female progressive-rock band called Valkyrie. The band performed original compositions and enjoyed moderate success in the Cleveland area.

In 2005 she joined Project Mojo. The band released a CD called “Operation Thunderclap” in 2008, two of the songs being penned by Anne.

In 2009, she joined Escalade, a classic rock band. Two years later, she took a step back in time and joined Rudy and the Illusions (herself becoming an Illusion), an Oldies band that has been playing in the Cleveland area for many years.

The North Coast Goats were next on her playlist in 2014.

Rick Sockel

Guitar & Vocals

Rick has been playing guitar for more than 45 years. His influences are many and diverse.

He grew up listening to old rock & roll, Motown, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers, Derek and The Dominos, Delaney & Bonnie, the Byrds, The Band, J.J. Cale, Taj Mahal, Freddie King and Muddy Waters, to name a few. He also enjoys folk music, traditional country, bluegrass and reggae.

Over the years he’s played with many Cleveland area bands including Michael Spiro, Metro, Threshold, the N.O.S. Band, Strangers From the Street, The Trail Hawgs, Ohio Crossing and No Money Down. He was also a member of the bluegrass band “Cedar Hill”.

Rick's playing is featured on both Crookneck Chandler and the Tibbee Bottom Boys albums, Aw Yeah, and Coontail Road.

Whether electric or acoustic, folk, country or rock & roll, you’ll hear the blues integrated into Rick’s sound.

Buddy Styles

Guitar, Keyboard

& Vocals

Buddy Styles learned to play guitar while herding goats back in the Olde Country. He loves to sing ballads taught to him by fellow goat herders.

Styles joined the North Coast Goats when goat herding became less profitable and institutionalized.

He also plays guitar for The Island Band which requires all members to host winery tours on Middle Bass Island.

Buddy still enjoys the company of goats and other hooved creatures and offers audience members a chance to meet the goats after each evening’s performances.

Buddy also serves as the band's booking agent. This is because job of scheduling venues and moving band members is similar to herding small creatures.
